Why did Japan sell off its Gold reserve

1. The selling of Japanese Gold reserve to raise dollars was necessary to create sufficient funds to buy yen.

2. A weaker dollar and a strong yen strengthened Japanese exports.

3. Japanese economic growth has been languishing for two decades with a negative interest monetary policy.

4. Japanese factory down and stock indexes down and Gross Domestic Output is 0.4%.

5. Japanese investors are buying gold. Investors are buying gold to hold value as the yen appreciates. The lack of confidence in the yen and dollar has turned investors to gold.

6. Lower bond yields has increased pressure to buy gold.

7. The Japanese central bank is buying bonds pushing yields lower. At the same time, Japanese national debt exceeds 250% of GDP. (https://schiffgold.com/key-gold-news/japanese-turning-gold-economy-spirals-central-bank-oblivion/ )

8. Jim Rogers says, "Never in the thousands of years of recorded history have we had interest rates at zero or negative". Rogers predicted in the early 90s that interest rates would rise. They did for short time under Greenspan but then the fed started it march towards zero interest rates. Zero interest rates have destroy the saving group of the economy. The bond prices are excessive high for a deflationary time starting in 2011. The fed should stop buying bonds and let interest rates rise.

9. Japanese pension funds are buying Japanese stock allowing artificial prices support, too exist. This practice is not sustainable. (https://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-jim-rogers-is-buying-what-everyone-else-is-selling-2015-06-26)

10. Japan is the largest importer of food in the world. Japan has a population equal to Brazil but Brazil has 23 times the land. Montana has the same land mass as Japan, but 1% the population.

11. Japan will move dollars out its foreign reserves and move it into gold. This will offset the dollar inflation of their imports. There is no pressure for the yen to rise against the dollar. (https://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-jim-rogers-is-buying-what-everyone-else-is-selling-2015
